Hazel Road Culvert
We have heard back from GBC and they are now taking action over the culvert in Hazel Road. The wall will be shored up to prevent any further damage whilst the council prepare a plan to repair the wall.
We have been in touch with the local dog warden, Peter Burnage, who is working with us to try an improve the situation. His details can be found on the contact page and he is working with GBC to amend the reporting forms and procedure on the GBC web site.
We are in contact with Surrey Highways with regard to the speeding incidents in White Lane and Ash Green Road. There have been at least 2 accidents in the last month and this is likely to increase with the proposed development. We will be investigating ways to reduce the speed in the area and putting forward a case to SCC.
New maps and house name lists have been posted on the village notice board. If you spot any mistakes or omissions please do let us know so that we can get the correct details. This really helps delivery companies find us all.
As the Village Walk was such a success we are now looking into repeating this again in the autumn. We are also look at hosting additional events, such as tours, and talks by local residents. Please let us know if you have any ideas which would contribute to building a stronger community.
The majority of the committee’s time is spent on fighting the planning applications. The planning page of this web site has been altered to include separate pages for approved application, those awaiting a decision and recent planning news. You can find them on the drop down menu under the planning tab.
AGRA is NOT ALWAYS NOTIFIED of changes or additions to the GBC planning portal (we are working on this!) So please let us know if you receive notification of any new developments.
We have produced three leaflets in the past 12 weeks, all of which focus on the planning applications. We are in the process of producing a newsletter for distribution throughout the village to update you on the other news for Ash Green.
If you have anything you would like to include please let us know, you can find contact details on the About Us page.
The AGRA committee is working on your behalf to fight the huge volume of new planning applications. Whilst the committee members have expertise in many areas, there are many more areas where we are inexperienced. We are asking for your help here.
Do you have any expertise that you think could help us in the fight against the planners or in any other way, for the benefit of the residents? We are not asking for you to join the committee, although please volunteer if you would like to, but simply to donate 30 minutes or an hour or so to give us the benefit of your expertise.
There are very many ways in which you can help us to build a community and to protect the area we live in from becoming just another part of the “urban” area. Please get in touch to let us know how you can help,
