June 2017
This is an opportunity to thank all the people who were involved with ensuring the Ash Green Flood Protection Bund was finally built and completed in October 2016 (campaign started 2006).
Val O’Dea, co-coordinator of the Ash Green Flood Action Group still attends the Multi Agency Flood meetings held quarterly in Ash Vale (www.ashvale-floodaction.org.uk). Graham Eyre, Chairman of the Ash Residents Association sends out regular updates regarding planning & flooding. The upstream/downstream water issues do have implications for flooding and new housing.

Tree Maintenance
Recently we organised a small party to maintain the tree in the fields north of Ash Green Road. Thanks to the team who spent the day strimming the brambles away from the trunk to help protect the tree and encourage the new growth.
Surrey Hills - AONB
There is a proposal in place with Natural England to increase the size of the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty covering the Surrey Hills. These areas are given much greater protection from developers as they have the status of national parks. Whilst the new proposal stops short of including Ash Green, because we will be so close to the border we may receive extra protection from this. You can view the proposals here.
Dog Fouling
